Cascina Ronchetto on VareseFocus: when industry meets wine

We are pleased to share with you a special mention dedicated to Cascina Ronchetto in the first issue of VareseFocus

In the article titled “When the factory turns into wine”, several entrepreneurs from the Varese area share how their passion for wine led them to start winemaking projects, creating an interesting connection between the industrial world and agriculture.

Among them is Fabio Cazzani, founder of Cascina Ronchetto and President of the Vi.Va. – Vini Varesini Association, who recounts the journey that led to the creation of our winery: from a deep passion for the countryside to the decision to enhance the Varese territory through viticulture.

Riportiamo qui l’estratto dell’intervista a Fabio Cazzani:

“We live in a territory that has all the characteristics and potential to produce excellent wine. This is a great asset for the entire province, both from a tourism and commercial perspective, and it deserves to be recognized and enhanced. That’s why in 2000 I planted my first vineyard and in 2008, together with other winemakers from the Varese area, we decided to found Vi.Va.” In the case of his Cascina Ronchetto, it was also an intuition that grew from passion into a real project: “I had the desire to live in the countryside and the will to challenge myself with a new experience,” says Cazzani. “From there came an investment with a dual goal: on one hand, to give voice to a passion; on the other, to enhance the Varese territory and its winemaking potential. It was a challenge, and we won it.” Today, Cascina Ronchetto, together with its collaborators and consultants, includes a winery and five hectares of vineyards, producing seven labels and around 20,000 bottles per year, all destined for the Italian Ho.Re.Ca. sector. “Our focus has always been to promote our wines here in the local area, to show that wine is also produced in Varese. At the same time, we would like to explore new markets by expanding into neighboring territories — and, why not, even beyond the province. We don’t want to overdo it, but rather make the most of our vineyard. We firmly believe that this is a heritage that deserves to be protected and enhanced,” concludes Cazzani.

We would like to thank VareseFocus for telling our story and highlighting the journey of companies that, like ours, believe in quality, passion and a strong connection to the territory.
